Our senior girls and guy small groups spent time this weekend wrapping gifts for 50 refugee kids at Riverock Church. This Wednesday these same two groups will serve in our community. The boys will be at the Buffalo City mission serving the poor and the girls will do the same at Cornerstone Manor.

When computers work the way they are designed they do incredible things. Graphic designers use computers to create amazing pictures, doctors use computers to enhance surgery and allow people to live longer, people use computers to stay in touch with friends.  When they first are used every video plays and everything is fast and opens up.  BUT over time they slow down and often can shut down often frustrating the user.  WHY?  Files become corrupted.  The good thing is computers are designed with a reset to restore it to its original functions.  CONTROL + ALT + DELETE.  This usually allows us to reset the computer to its original functions.

When we become Christians God places His Holy Spirit within us and gives us a new operating system.  But often we can download corrupted files into our minds, and hearts and we begin to not function how we are supposed to . Tonight we looked at GALATIANS 5:16-24, some of the actions of a life that has corrupted files.  We see that we have two operating systems working against each other. One is God's Spirit and His leading, and the other the flesh. When we find ourselves operating in the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) we need a RESET.  CONTROL + ALT  + DELETE.

CONTROL represent surrendering control of our lives over to God again.

ALT- represent turning from the action or mindset and turning towards God again.

DELETE- represents confessing the sin before God.

How often do we need a reset?  As much as you need it.  When you find yourself under the influence of the flesh (Gal 5:19-21) Control + Alt + Delete.  We can have confidence that when we do we are now RESET to our new operating system: under the influence of the Spirit.  Desire to live every day every moment under the Holy Spirits influence.   Instead of thinking :"What is God's will for my life" perhaps ask, "What is Gods Spirit leading me to do today, in this moment, as I get on this bus, when I talk to my sister,  while I watch Tv.  Through the influence of the Spirit your life will be different and the world can't help but notice.  Maybe you need a CONTROL + ALT + DELETE right now.  DO it!

We shared that someone "under the influence" of alcohol usually, walks, talks, and thinks differently. In the bible God makes a comparison using this illustration.  In Ephesians 5:15-20, we see that God's desire is that we are not "under the influence" of alcohol but under the influence of His Spirit in our lives. When we are, we as Christians will, walk, talk, and think differently.  When we are under His influence in our lives, we CANNOT help but be different and the world cannot help but notice.

Tonight in Small groups we are discussing what is the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

We read and discussed Galatians 5:16-26 | John 16:14 | John 14:6 | Psalm 143:10 and many other verses.

Where are you right now?  Under the influence of God's Spirit in your life or under the influence of the flesh?                           If your under the influence of the flesh then your like a caterpillar. Crawling around in dirt when God designed you to be transformed into a butterfly than can fly.  Do you want to keep crawling when you can fly? If your a follower of Christ, there is no option, it's God's desire that your constantly under the influence of His Spirit giving Him Glory...

If i told you I had an encounter with God where He entered my body and gave me the supernatural ability to play basketball, wouldn't you expect to see an amazing improvement in my jump shot, my defense, and my speed on the court?  If you saw no change in my skills, wouldn't you question if what I said was true?  If I actually encountered God and He entered my body?

"The Mark" of every Christian is the Holy Spirit living in and through us.
These expressions of the Spirit can be seen in GALATIANS 5:22-23
Has anyone ever been amazed by your peace?
Love? Joy? Have people ever envied your self control?
If not, what does that mean for you?
We began to ask these tough questions tonight at twotwenty2 in our small groups.
When does the Holy Spirit come into our lives? ACTS 2:38
What can we know about the Holy Spirit from scripture?
JOHN 14:7, 25-26 | ACTS 5:3-4 | JOHN 16: 5-14 |1ST CORINTHIANS 3:16, 6:19-20, ROMANS 8:9 PSALM 139:7-8
If God truly lives in you, shouldn't you expect to be different from everyone else?
